Kisdorf ( Low German Kisdbod ) is a municipality in the southern part of the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein. Kisdorf-Dorf, Kisdorferwohld , Kisdorf-Feld, Kisdorf-Graff and Kisdorf-Regel are in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Kisdorf is located about 10 kilometers north of Norderstedt in a rural area. To the west, the federal highway 7 runs from Hamburg to Flensburg, to the east, the federal highway 432 from Norderstedt to Bad Segeberg .

The place is located on the western slope of the Kisdorf Wohldes, a ridge, which with its highest elevation - the Rathkrügen (91 meters) - reaches the height of the Segeberger Kalkberg .

history

Kisdorf was first mentioned in a document around 1520 as "Kystorpp". Up until the middle of the 16th century there was a glassworks in the village and until the 18th century there was extensive forest areas that were used for the production of charcoal .

In 1859 part of the village was destroyed by a major fire, the so-called Sengelbrand.

coat of arms

Blazon : “In silver, under a raised red rafter, a green oak branch with three leaves and an acorn; in the upper corners three blue balls 2: 1. "

The rafter tracing the gable line of a house is intended to symbolize the settlement of the place that has spanned centuries. The oak branch symbolizes the proximity to the Kisdorf Wohld. The six blue spheres remind on the one hand of the meaning of the place name, on the other hand of six spring streams that arise in the municipality.

Partner communities

Kisdof's partner parish is Bardsey-cum-Rigton in England. The community maintains friendly relationships with Gingst auf Rügen and Brünzow in Western Pomerania.
