Geography and traffic

Bebensee is located about 7 km south of Bad Segeberg and 8 km north of Bad Oldesloe in a rural setting on Lake Neversdorfer . The federal highway 21 crosses the municipal area.

Barrows and urn finds show that the municipality was settled early.

Community representation

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the CDU , the electoral community BAW and the electoral community AWB each have three seats since the local elections in 2018 . The latter represents the mayor.
