Norbert Bebensee

Norbert Bebensee (born July 15, 1953 in Bad Schwartau ) is a former German football player . Between 1976 and 1986 he played a total of 292 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 50 goals. In the 1986/1987 season he made four appearances in the Bundesliga for Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin .

career

Regionalliga Nord, 1972/73 and 1973/74

Until the 1971/72 season, Norbert Bebensee played as an amateur at VfL Bad Schwartau . In the 1972/73 season, the 19-year-old received an offer from Phönix Lübeck from the Regionalliga Nord and therefore moved to Lübeck in 1972 . On the first match day, on July 30, 1972, he made his debut at home as a left winger against Leu Braunschweig in the Regionalliga. Phoenix finished eighth this season. In the second year, the young player experienced relegation as 19th in the table. He came to a total of 63 games in the Regionalliga in which he scored 11 goals.

A descent of Lübeck was repeated in 1974/75 in the Oberliga Nord, so that Bebensee was back in the state league in 1975/76 . For the 1976/77 season he accepted an offer from the promoter to the 2nd Bundesliga North, SV Arminia Hannover , and signed a license agreement at Bischofsholer Damm.

2nd Bundesliga, 1976 to 1983

The newcomer from Phönix Lübeck immediately belonged to the regular team under coach Gerd Bohnsack and played 37 games with six goals in the first year alongside the dangerous Karl-Heinz Mrosko at Arminia. He played a total of 135 games in the second division for the “blues” from 1976 to 1980, scoring a total of 25 goals. After the relegation of Arminia in 1980 - coach István Sztani had replaced Bohnsack in the summer of 1979 - Bebensee signed with the neighboring club Hannover 96 and became a "Red".

With coach Diethelm Ferner and teammates Jürgen Rynio , Gerhard Kleppinger , Peter Anders , Bernd Dierßen and striker Dieter Schatzschneider , Hannover 96 came fourth in Bebensee's first season . In three seasons, the man from Bad Schwartau came to 86 games and 12 goals. For the 1983/84 season, Bebensee switched to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin at the age of 30, temporarily saying goodbye to the 2nd Bundesliga and professional football.

Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin, 1983 to 1987

In terms of sport, the step back immediately paid off for the veteran. Blue and white won the Berlin amateur championship. In the following round of promotion, the Berliners prevailed against FC St. Pauli , 1. FC Bocholt , FC Gütersloh and SV Lurup and were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. The promoted came in the first second division season (1984/85) in seventh place. In the second year , the blue-whites managed second place under coach Bernd Hoss behind FC 08 Homburg and thus promotion to the Bundesliga. In addition to goalkeeper Reinhard Mager , defenders Egon Flad and Jürgen Haller , as well as attackers Jörg Gaedke , Bodo Mattern and Leo Bunk , the 33-year-old Bebensee played in 37 games. Overall, he came in the two second division seasons with Berlin on 71 games and 13 goals. Amateur again

After four seasons in Berlin, Norbert Bebensee moved to Holstein Switzerland and from 1987/88 played again as an amateur footballer for SpVgg Eutin 08 .

Personal and family

From 2002 to 2007 he worked in the post office of a car rental company in Eschborn. He then ran a pub with his wife and daughter in Playa del Inglés on the Spanish Canary Island of Gran Canaria .
