Karl-Heinz “Charly” Mrosko (born October 11, 1946 in Lindau (Bodensee) ; † March 18, 2019 in Wilhelmshaven ) was a German football player and coach .

Career as a player

After two seasons for SpVgg Lindau , Karl-Heinz Mrosko moved in 1968 to the regional league team Stuttgarter Kickers , which he left after just one season for Bayern Munich . In the first few months he was only used sporadically for the reigning German champions and cup winners, but was then able to prevail and came to regular appearances. He was unable to defend both titles with the team, in the Bundesliga it was enough for second place behind Borussia Mönchengladbach , in the DFB Cup they even failed at the regional division 1. FC Nürnberg . In the European Cup, the team also failed in the first round at AS Saint-Étienne , although Mrosko was not used in both games. In his first season in Munich, the 23-year-old Mrosko was able to look back on 19 league games and five goals. In the away game at Hamburger SV , which he won 3-1 , he even made a decisive contribution to the victory with two goals after being 0-1 behind. In the following season he was also often in the starting line-up, scored eight Bundesliga goals and in the end was again in second place with the team behind Mönchengladbach. The DFB Cup season , however, was very successful: In the final, won 2-1 after extra time against 1. FC Köln , Mrosko did the preparatory work for Franz Beckenbauer's equalizer . In that season Mrosko also came to some international appearances for his club. In the trade fair cup he reached the quarter-finals with FC Bayern after successes over Glasgow Rangers , Coventry City and Sparta Rotterdam , in which, however, they lost out to Liverpool . Except for the second leg against Liverpool, Mrosko was used in all games in the competition. After two years at FC Bayern, Mroskos continued his career in the Regionalliga Süd to 1. FC Nürnberg, which he left after just one season.

For the 1972/73 season he returned to the Bundesliga. He played one season for Hannover 96 and scored three goals in 29 games. He then played for a year at the regional league team TSV 1860 Munich . This was followed by a longer stay with Arminia Hannover , first in the Oberliga Nord (3rd division) and from the 1976/77 season in the 2nd Bundesliga North. During his time at Arminia Hanover, he won the Amateurs Cup in 1976 with the selection of the Lower Saxony regional association with a 1-0 win against the selection of the Bavarian regional association . In between he was active for half a year with the NASL franchise Oakland Stompers in the United States.

Mrosko's last club was the second division Hannover 96, for which he scored 11 goals in 67 games. On May 30, 1981, his active career ended with a 7-2 win in the away game against VfB Oldenburg - Mrosko played 231 second division games and scored 85 goals.

Career as a coach

From 1983 to 1985 he was the trainer of Arminia Hannover. He then trained from 1985 to 1989 1. SC Göttingen 05 in the then third-class Oberliga Nord. He then moved back to league competitor Arminia Hannover. In the 1990/91 season he was in charge of TSV Havelse as a coach in the second division from the 14th day of the game . From April 1994 to June 1995 he trained again in Göttingen 05.

Others

Mrosko last worked as a lawyer in Wedemark , Lower Saxony , and was involved in a red light affair in this function, for which he was also prosecuted.
