Geography and traffic

Hagen is located about seven kilometers northwest of Bad Bramstedt in a rural area. The federal highway 206 runs south from Bad Bramstedt to Itzehoe .

The 12 hectare Hagener Moor nature reserve is located in the municipality. The Mühlenbek runs through the Feldmark .

history

Hagen was first mentioned in 1233 as a clearing settlement on the edge of the parish of Bad Bramstedt . The name refers to the structure of the village as a thorn-reinforced defense and escape system.

politics

Municipal council and mayor

Since the local elections in 2018, the community of voters KWV (Kommunale Vählervereinigung Hagen) has provided all nine community representatives in the community council. In the constituent meeting of the municipal council on June 18, 2018, Kay Holm was elected as the new mayor. His predecessor Holger Klose did not stand for election again after 20 years in the office of mayor.
