Mario Krüger (born July 29, 1957 in Hagen (Holstein) ) is a local and state politician from Dortmund . He has been a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party since 1982 . From 1984 to 2012 he was a member of the district parliaments and the Dortmund City Council, most of the time as a parliamentary group spokesman. From May 31, 2012 until the state election on May 14, 2017 (16th electoral period), Mario Krüger was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .
Professional biography
Mario Krüger completed secondary school and completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman in 1977. He obtained his technical college entrance qualification in 1978. This was followed by a degree in utility and environmental technology at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences until 1982, with a degree in engineering. Until 1997 he was a project manager at various companies and institutions, including an engineering office for hospital construction and the Federal Miners' Union in Bochum. He is currently department head and branch manager in an engineering office for hospital construction.
Political biography
From 1984 to 1989 Mario Krüger was parliamentary group spokesman in the Dortmund district council in Lütgendortmund ; from 1989 to 1994 member of the Huckarde district council . Since 1994 he has held a mandate in the city council of Dortmund; since 2001 he has been one of two group speakers there. He is a member of the board of the Ruhr district association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and from 2004 to 2012 he was parliamentary group chairman in the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR), where he successfully campaigned for a “ social ticket ”. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , he won a mandate on his party's state list. Here he belonged to various technical committees; in the committees for budgetary control and local politics he was the spokesman for his party. After a rift about the candidate list for the state election 2017, Mario Krüger moved from the Dortmund district association to the Recklinghausen / Castrop-Rauxel district association, where he was a direct candidate for the state election, but this time without being on his party's state list.
