Heidmühlen village street

Heidmühlen is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Heidmühlen once belonged to the border area between the Saxons and the Wends . Klint, Mühlenholz, Radesforde, Rieshorn and Twel are in the municipality.

history

Until 1932 there were two neighboring communities in Heidmühlen, one in the Bordesholm district and one in the Segeberg district. After the Bordesholm district was dissolved on October 1, 1932, the Bordesholm community Heidmühlen was incorporated into the Segeberg district and was given the name Heidmühlen (Bordesholm) . On October 1, 1935, the two communities were merged to form today's community of Heidmühlen.

Geography and traffic

Heidmühlen is located about 12 km southeast of Neumünster in the Segeberger Heide , 14 km northeast of Bad Bramstedt and 14 km west of Bad Segeberg on the edge of the Segeberger Forest .

To the northeast, the federal highway 205 runs from Bad Segeberg to Neumünster, south the federal highway 206 from Bad Segeberg to Bad Bramstedt and to the west the federal highway 7 from Hamburg to Flensburg .

Shortly before the old mill, which gave the place its name, the Radesford Au and the Rothenmühlenau flow together to form the Osterau

Part of the Eekholt wildlife park is located in the municipal area.

Community representation

Of the nine seats in the municipal council who CDU and the voter community WGH since the municipal election 2008, four seats. Another seat is held by a single applicant .
