Kattendorf is a municipality in the southern part of the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The district Weeden is located in the municipality.
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1326 as "de Cattendorpe". The meaning "Katzendorf" results from the Low German term Catte or Katte.

Community representation
Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the CDU has five seats since the 2008 local elections, the SPD four and the constituency AWK has two.

Blazon : "Above a green corrugated shield base, this covered with two silver wave threads, in gold a three-leaved green holly branch."
The coat of arms was designed in 1993 by the journalist Jens M. Lucke.

The HVV connects Kattendorf to the local public transport . Five bus lines stop in Kattendorf and provide connections to u. a. Bad Segeberg , Kaltenkirchen and Sievershütten .
