Stocksee is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Stockseehof is located in the municipality.
geography
The place is located on the Stocksee lake of the same name .
Two buses run daily from the northernmost stop of the Hamburg transport association to Bad Segeberg ( autokraft ) and several buses from the Plön district transport company in the direction of Plön .
history
The lake was mentioned in a document in 1075 in a description of the Limes Saxoniae by Adam von Bremen .
The village was first mentioned in 1347 when the knight Nikolaus Splyth pledged his estate with the village of Stocksee to the Reinfeld monastery .
From 1640 to 1649 Stocksee was owned by the Brockdorff family .
In 1649, Duke Joachim Ernst (Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön) , the first duke of the Duchy of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön, acquired Stocksee.
Stocksee shares a common history with Plön and Duke Johann Adolf (Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön) : “The Duke wanted to turn Stocksee into a town, and when he set out on a campaign to Hungary and against Poland under Emperor Leopold, the Place to enlarge; but his wife, Dorothea Sophia geb. Princess of Brunswick, Plön liked it better. She took the money suspended for Stocksee and built the new town of Plön. "
On October 1, 1937, the municipality of Stocksee was merged with the municipality of the neighboring village of Damsdorf under the name of Stocksee. In 1948 the municipal council passed the resolution to separate the municipalities from each other again, and on March 31, 1951 this resolution was implemented.
In the 1980s, divers found an approx. 700 year old dugout canoe in the lake , which indicates a longer settlement history of the village.
politics
Community representation
Since the local elections in 2013, the KWS voter community has had all nine seats in the municipal council.
coat of arms
Blazon : “Divided by silver and blue in a wave cut. Above between two red rooted tree stumps a green bundle of ears, below a silver dugout canoe. "
Historical reason: The coat of arms of the municipality of Stocksee is designed in its essential parts as a "speaking landmark". The tree stumps stand for the first syllable of the name: "Stock" in the meaning of tree stump. The wave division and the blue tinged shield base symbolize the second part of the name and also stand for the lake of the same name. The bundle of ears of wheat indicates agriculture as the main line of business in the municipality, which consists of the village of Stocksee and the Stockseehof estate. The dugout canoe in the base of the shield refers to a find from the late Middle Ages that came to light during excavations in the Stocksee in 1985.
flag
Blazon : "On the flag cloth evenly divided into an upper blue and a lower white stripe, the municipal coat of arms in a flag-appropriate tinge ."
