The forest estate district of Buchholz is one of the two municipality-free areas of Schleswig-Holstein (the other is the Sachsenwald ).

geography

The 41 square kilometers large Forstgutsbezirk is about 8 kilometers west of Bad Segeberg at the Federal Highway 206 to Bad Bramstedt . It belongs to the central area of Bad Segeberg.

There are no residential buildings in the forest estate district, which is part of the Segeberger Forest , only the Glashütte colony (service building of the forest administration).

The unincorporated area is part of the Office Leezen in Segeberg .

The inhabited parts of the Buchholz forest estate belong as exclaves to the communities of Bark , Hartenholm , Heidmühlen and the city of Wahlstedt .

95 percent of the area is forest, three percent is agricultural area. 1.4 percent of the area is taken up by streets, paths and squares. In the south, the federal highway 206 runs through the forest. There are also two county roads running through the area.
