Location of the community Mönkloh in the Segeberg district

Mönkloh is a municipality in the Segeberg district in Schleswig-Holstein . It is the westernmost municipality in the district and borders on the districts of Pinneberg and Steinburg .

Geography and traffic

Mönkloh is located about 7 km southwest of Bad Bramstedt in a rural area. The federal highway 206 runs north from Bad Bramstedt to Itzehoe , east the federal highway 4 from Hamburg to Bad Bramstedt.

In the very wooded community there is mainly coniferous forest, which is also important as a local recreation destination . Some old trees are designated as natural monuments .

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the WgM community of voters has five seats since the 2008 local elections and the SPD four.
