In Office Woldegk six municipalities and the city are Woldegk joined forces to do their administrative business. On January 1, 2004, the former Groß Miltzow office was incorporated into the Woldegk office. The office is located in the east of the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It borders on the state of Brandenburg . The official seat is in Woldegk.

The district is predominantly agricultural. The Ostseautobahn 20 runs through the Woldegk office .

Until May 25, 2014, the municipality of Helpt with the districts of Oertzenhof and Pasenow belonged to the Woldegk district, but was then incorporated into Woldegk. The same happened with the community of Mildenitz on January 1, 2015 and with Petersdorf on May 26, 2019.

The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "AMT WOLDEGK".
