geography
The municipality of Voigtsdorf is about 25 kilometers east of Neubrandenburg and ten kilometers northwest of Strasburg (Uckermark) . It is a typical street village with three extensions. South of the town is the Endmoränenbogen of up to 153 meters high Brohm Mountains in the nature reserve Brohm mountains. Neighboring communities are Schönhausen in the east, Schönbeck in the northwest and Groß Miltzow in the southwest.
history
The Voigtsdorf volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1936, and today it has its own Mercedes-Benz L 1113 (built in 1976) fire truck .
In the time of the GDR Voigtsdorf belonged to the Strasburg district within the Neubrandenburg district . The construction of the four-storey prefabricated building on the north-western edge of the village was carried out in the 1960s. After the reunification of Germany, the community came to the district of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in 1994 , which was added to the Mecklenburg Lake District in 2011 . From 1992 to 2003 the Groß Miltzow office carried out the administrative business for Voigtsdorf, and the Woldegk office has been responsible for this since 2004 .
The population was and is critical of proposals to integrate the independent municipality of Voigtsdorf into the city of Woldegk .

The Protestant church in Voigtsdorf was built from 1835 to 1855 according to plans by the building councilor Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel in the neo-Gothic style. Field stone was used in the lower part of the church , and bricks were used in the gable and in the upper floors of the tower. A special feature of the house of God is that the church tower adjoins the church to the west - otherwise it is usual for churches to face east. The bronze bell in the tower dates from 1909. Since the original interior was destroyed during the Second World War, the interior of the church is rather simple today, with a gallery and a wooden pulpit . Inside the church there are also two memorial plaques commemorating the fallen of the two world wars. Behind the church is the currently used parish cemetery. Today the church belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Kublank .
In addition to the church, the village's former school with its stable is also a listed building.
Economy and Infrastructure
The Voigtsdorfer Dorfstraße is part of the district road 55, which connects the place with the surrounding villages. The federal highway 104 runs south of the community. A section of the Federal Motorway 20 also runs through the municipality , which can be reached via the Strasburg (Uckermark) junction about five kilometers away .
The approximately 211 km long Brohmer Berge & Randowtal-Rundweg , a cycle path that aims to bring tourists closer to the landscape in the extreme northeast of Germany , which was shaped by the last Ice Age , also leads through the village .
Three bus stops ( Voigtsdorf ; Voigtsdorf, expansion and Lindower Weg ) are located in the municipality, they are served by bus line 502 of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommernschen Verkehrsgesellschaft (abbreviated: MVVG).
