history

Church in Neddemin

The Slavic name of the place laid out as an anger village can be interpreted as the place of the absent ( ne doma = not in the house ). The first mention of Neddemin ( Nedemin ) took place in a document from Margrave Albrecht III. from August 24, 1285. At the beginning of the 14th century the village church was built, the tower of which is now crowned by a stork's nest. Since 1305 Neddemin was owned by the Cistercian monastery Himmelpfort .

The Neddemin estate was owned by the von Peccatel (around 1597), von Dechow (from 1694), von Gävertsheim (from 1754), von Hahn auf Remplin (from 1778), von Hammerstein (from 1783), Johann Friedrich Blank (from 1793), Oertzen (from 1804), Max Lemcke (from 1883) and von Eynern; Relocated in 1939. The manor house is said to date from around 1880.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Hohenmin was incorporated.

politics

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE NEDDEMIN * LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE".
