About this picture

Möllenbeck is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District in southern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is administered by the Neustrelitz-Land Office , based in the non-official city of Neustrelitz .

geography

The municipality of Möllenbeck lies in a ground moraine area that stretches from Neustrelitz and Neubrandenburg eastwards into the Uckermark . Many lakes or chains of lakes are interspersed in this hilly area. This is also the case in Möllenbeck: here three small lakes (originally five lakes) are lined up in a south-west-north-east direction, which are connected by a ditch. To the south and east of Möllenbeck is the large Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park . Möllenbeck is about 25 kilometers from Neubrandenburg.

Möllenbeck is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Burg Stargard in the north, Woldegk in the east, Feldberger Seenlandschaft in the southeast, Grünow in the south and Blankensee in the west.

Community structure

The municipality of Möllenbeck includes Flatow , Möllenbeck, Quadenschönfeld , Quadenschönfeld Bahnhof , Stolpe , Warbende and Warbende Expansion .

history

In the Middle Ages, parts of today's municipality were owned by the Himmelpfort monastery . Flatow and Warbende had been part of the monastery since 1305. In 1438 Flatow became fully owned, also Warbende at an unknown date. In 1408 the Meygreven farm finally came into the possession of the monastery.

Quadenschönfeld: The manor house was built around 1800 on behalf of Friedrich von Warburg . The estate owned u. a. the families von Warburg bis (1774–1883) and von Bernstorff (1883–1945).

Stolpe was separated from Quadenschönfeld in 1837 when Hellmut Otto Friedrich von Warburg took over. Landowners were also Grand Duke Friedrich Wilhelm II shortly before 1900 and Carl Michael zu Mecklenburg from 1920 and the Free State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz from around 1930 . Under the Nazi Reichsleiter Martin Bormann , Stolpe belonged to the North Goods Administration . In 1945 the manor house from 1840 was burned down by an SS commando on the orders of Bormann .
