Location of the municipality of Pripsleben in the Mecklenburg Lake District

Pripsleben is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District . The community is located north of Neubrandenburg . Until January 1, 2004, the community was part of the Kastorfer See office and has since been part of the Treptower Tollensewinkel office , based in Altentreptow .

Geography and traffic

Pripsleben is about four kilometers northwest of Altentreptow. The B 96 runs east of the community. The community can be reached from the A 20 via the Altentreptow junction .

history

Pripsleben was first mentioned as "Prebeslave" in 1245 in a deed of donation. The place is probably named after the locator Pribislaw . A naming after the name of the Mecklenburg prince Pribislaw is rather unlikely. Later the place was also called Pribislaw , Pribislav or Pribeslave . In Pripsleben there is a hill that suggests a former Slavic castle.

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "GEMEINDE PRIPSLEBEN • LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE".
