Peenehagen is the name of a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany), which was created on January 1, 2012 from the merger of the municipalities Groß Gievitz , Hinrichshagen and Lansen-Schönau . The municipality is administered by the Lake Landscape Department in Waren , based in the city of Waren (Müritz) .

geography

The municipality is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District in the wooded, hilly area north of the city of Waren (Müritz) and west of the Torgelower See . It is named after the Ostpeene , which emerges from the Torgelower See in the municipality.

The districts of Alt Schönau , Carlsruh , Forsthof , Groß Gievitz , Hinrichshagen , Johannshof , Klein Gievitz , Lansen , Levenstorf , Minenhof , Neu Schönau , Schwarzenhof and Carefree belong to the municipality of Peenehagen .

history

Alt Schönau was first listed as Schonowhage in a deed of ownership in 1230 . The stone church with brick gables dates from the 14th century. The Alt Schönau manor house was built at the end of the 18th century.

Groß Gievitz was probably founded in the 13th century and was first mentioned in 1316. It gained importance as a craft village and until 1848 it was market-friendly.

Hinrichshagen was settled in the Bronze Age. The place was first mentioned in 1311.

Lansen-Schönau was created in 2005 through a merger of Alt Schönau and Lansen. The village church of Lansen, a brick building with a three-eight choir , was built around 1400 with additions in the 17th century. The Lansen estate was owned by the von Meyenn (until 1793), von Randow and von Hahn (1798–1932) families; it was then settled.

Carefree: Carefree was a dairy farm on the Deven estate until 1855 . Owner was u. a. the Canel family since 1870. The renovated, historicizing manor house dates from around 1900 and has been a residential building since 1945.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE PEENEHAGEN • LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE".
