history

Etzerschlößl or Etzerschlößchen

The Etzermühle around 1900

The small pleasure palace Etzerschlößl or Etzerschlößchen , which gives the settlement its name , was previously referred to as "dwelling above the Pfannhaus , in the Etz".

Prince Provost Jakob Pütrich had it built in 1574 on the way to the high valley of the Gnotschaft Gern and equipped with his coat of arms above the entrance gate and inside with precious stone pine paneling and artistic stoves. On December 24, 1604, the property was sold to a Wolf Vözl for 200 guilders with the stipulation that the monastery monastery had a right of first refusal if it was resold and that 3 guilders were to be paid annually to the monastery. Furthermore, Vözl was ordered to hand over the pine wood panels in the lower Gaden , in the house, in the living room and in the two chambers, as well as an oven for further use in the prince-provincial residence - and to have new interior paneling made in a simpler design at his own expense . It was also determined that Vözl had to keep the lower room and the two chambers reserved for the prince provost in the event of an epidemic risk ( plague , black leaves , etc.). A richly decorated wooden ceiling was still preserved until the 1920s.

With its ten rooms, the Etzerschlößl was later temporarily open to citizens as a place of refuge when there was a risk of epidemics and passed to various other owners. It was last used as a children's home until it was demolished in 1960. The Etzermühle , which belongs to the ensemble and was also demolished because of its dilapidation, was one of the “most old romantic buildings in the country” and located at the outlet of the Gerer Bach.

settlement

The settlement Am Etzerschlößl was developed in the 1960s within the fields belonging to the Gnotschaft Vordergern of the Meierhof Pfannhaus (today: Rosenhof ) established by Prince Provost Jakob Pütrich (1523–1594) . Am Etzerschlößl is also the street name of the 310 meter long cul-de-sac that branches off from Gerner Straße to the east and opens up the settlement.

The former hamlet or settlement Am Etzerschlößl of the municipality of Maria Gern was incorporated into the Berchtesgaden market as a district on January 1, 1972.

(The Rosenhof, located not far from the settlement, has always belonged to the Anzenbach Gnotschaft , which was only part of the municipality of Gern from 1817 to 1818 (from 1953: Maria Gern ), only to be reintegrated into the neighboring municipality of Salzberg to the south . January 1972, Salzberg is also a district of the Berchtesgaden market.)
