Hintergern

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hintergern has been a district of the Berchtesgaden market in the Upper Bavarian district of Berchtesgadener Land since January 1, 1972 .

history

Probably as early as the end of the 14th century Hintergern was the 3rd Gnotschaftsgebiet of the "Ur gnotschaft " Gern in Berchtesgadener Land , which from 1380 formed the heartland of the Reich Prelature Berchtesgaden and the later independent, imperial priory Berchtesgaden (1559-1803). After three changes of rulership in quick succession, in 1810 the Berchtesgadener Land and its Gnotships became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria and Gern became a municipality in 1812 . From 1953 Gern was renamed Maria Gern and Hintergern remained until December 31, 1971 part of this community, which only lost its independence in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on January 1, 1972 and became a district of Berchtesgaden . Since then, Hintergern has been a district or a Gnotschaft of the Berchtesgaden market.
