geography

The scattered settlement Loipl is about 300 meters higher than Bischofswiesen on a high plateau . Loipl is framed by the Schmuckenstein and Pfaffenbichel in the southwest, Lattengebirge in the west with Karspitz , Törlschneid , Törlkopf , Karkopf , Dreisesselberg , Keilkopf, Mottkopf and Rotofen ( sleeping witch ) in the north, Untersberg in the east with Rauhenkopf , from the dead man (Gnotschaft Schwarzeck ) and Götschenkopf in the south. The Hohe Göll and the Hochkalter are within sight to the south .

The Berchtesgadener Bürgerwald , a former community-free area , which was mainly incorporated into Bischofswiesen on July 1, 1982 (258.9 of 260.9 hectares , the remaining 2 hectares ), joins the municipality border to Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden (Gnotschaft Schwarzeck there) were added to the neighboring municipality of Ramsau).

history

Probably as early as the end of the 14th century, Loipl was the 1st Gnotschaft district of the "Ur gnotschaft " Bischofswiesen in the Berchtesgadener Land , which from 1380 formed the heartland of the Reich Prelature Berchtesgaden and the later independent, imperial provostory Berchtesgaden (1559-1803). After three changes of rulership in quick succession, in 1810 the Berchtesgadener Land with its Gnotships was annexed to the Kingdom of Bavaria and from 1812 Bischofswiesen became a community . Since the size and structure of the municipality of Bischofswiesen were excluded from the regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s , Loipl is still a district or a Gnotschaft of the municipality of Bischofswiesen.

A chapel was built by the inhabitants of Loipl in 1798/99 under the name “To our dear lady” . According to Brugger, it was inaugurated (“designated”) in 1800 by the Reichsstift - Capitular Franz Xaver Graf von Berchem . Thanks to the foundation of an indulgence ("Awers"), it developed into a pilgrimage church from 1805 , which attracted many pilgrims in the 19th and 20th centuries. When the name Pilgrimage Church Maria Hilf was officially introduced and whether and when the building was expanded is currently (as of 2002) unknown.

House names

According to the statistical survey of 1698, the Gnotschaft Loipl consisted of 28 properties, including 21 full and seven half farms, which are listed with their house names . If the current house name differs from the previous one, it is added in brackets. According to the tax book of 1698, the Gnotschafter set up for the Gnotschafterbe district was the farmer von Vogl .

The Grabenmühle property is still shown on maps, but is no longer known today. These properties are shown in italics in the table below.

regional customs

St. Nikolaus, the Nikoloweibl and the Buttnmandl on the 1st Sunday of Advent in Loipl.

A special custom is the “ Buttnmandllauf ”, which in Loipl, unlike most other municipalities in Berchtesgadener Land, is not kept on December 5th or 6th, but on the first Sunday in Advent . Nicholas moves with his "Nikoloweibl" (a boy disguised as a woman in traditional costume), his "Strohbuttnmandln" and "Gangerln" (young men dressed in furs and chains) to the Kollerbichl to pray at dusk and then visit the courtyards . There the children await St. Nicholas and his entourage and after a prayer or a verse that they have learned by heart, they are happy about the gifts.

Tourism and sport

Rehabilitation Clinic Loipl

The Göbl farm was first mentioned in the 13th century. In the 1940s the Helliel family set up a restaurant there to entertain pilgrims, and in 1960 it became a guest house with a restaurant. In 1978 the first neurological rehabilitation clinic in Bavaria was established there. In 2000 the privately run Medical Park AG took over the clinic and expanded it considerably. Treatment focuses on multiple sclerosis , Parkinson's disease , stroke , brain tumors and neuromuscular diseases. The chief physician is currently (since October 2017) Prof. Dr. Peter Rieckmann.
