The Große Rauhenkopf or Großer Rauher Kopf (partly Raunenkopf ) is 1604 m above sea level. NN high summit on the southern foothills of the Untersberg in the Berchtesgaden Alps . A pseudolite radio station of the GALILEO test system is located near the summit .
About 250 meters south is the 1518 m above sea level. NN high peaks of the Kleiner Rauhenkopf (or Kleiner Raunenkopf ).
Ascent
The Große Rauhenkopf is usually climbed from the south from Aschauer Weiher, Bischofswiesen or Maria Gern . From the north, the summit can be reached by descending from the Leiterl / Gatterl over the Bannkopf and the partly secured north ridge (UIAA I).

From the summit you have a good view of Bischofswiesen , Berchtesgaden , the Rotofen and the Lattengebirge as well as the two thousand meter peaks of the Berchtesgaden Alps such as Hoher Göll , Watzmann and Hochkalter .
