Neuenhofe is a district of the Westheide community in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Neuenhofe is located about 27 kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg . To the north-east of the village is the Zackelberg, the highest point in the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide . South of the village is the Ohre and the village of Hillersleben .
history
Neuenhofe emerged over 800 years ago from the new courtyard of the Hillersleben monastery, which housed the monastery's sheep herds.
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Neuenhofe, Born and Hillersleben merged to form the new community of Westheide .
mayor
The honorary mayor Hartmut Jahn had been in office since February 2, 2005 and resigned on October 1, 2006. From October 2006 the community was officially headed by Sabine Heeger (Deputy Mayor). In the election on April 22, 2007, Hartmut Jahn was re-elected mayor with 80.3 percent of the vote and held this office until the community of Neuenhofe was dissolved and the community of Westheide was founded.
