from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Since 1978, Unterschönau has been part of the community of Schönau am Königssee in the Upper Bavarian district of Berchtesgadener Land .

history

Probably as early as the end of the 14th century, Unterschönau I and Unterschönau II were the 7th and 5th Gnotschafterbe district of the "Ur gnotschaft " Schönau in the Berchtesgadener Land , which from 1380 became the heartland of the Reich Prelature Berchtesgaden and the later independent, imperial provost of Berchtesgaden (1559 -1803). After three changes of rulership in quick succession, in 1810 the Berchtesgadener Land and its Gnotships became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria, and Schönau became a municipality from 1817 . In 1978, in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipalities of Schönau and Königssee were merged again into the unitary municipality of Schönau am Königssee, with roughly the same area size as the former original message. Since then, Unterschönau I and Unterschönau II have been districts or gnotships of Schönau am Königssee.

In 1887, the Oberherzogberg Christmas Rifle Society was founded in this part of the village , and since 1925 it has been a member of the United Christmas Riflemen of the Berchtesgadener Land .

In 1944 the valuable works of art and paintings were brought from the Göring train parked at the Unterstein train station in Unterschönau to the Hubertus house, which Ludwig Ganghofer used as a template for his novel Hubertus Castle .
