Oberstein (Marktschellenberg)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oberstein is since 1969 a district of the market Marktschellenberg in Upper Bavarian district of Berchtesgaden .

history

Probably as early as the end of the 14th century, Oberstein was the 1st Gnotschaft district of the "Ur gnotschaft " Scheffau in the Berchtesgadener Land , which from 1380 formed the heartland of the Reich Prelature Berchtesgaden and the later independent, imperial provosts Berchtesgaden (1559-1803). After three changes of rulership in quick succession, in 1810 the Berchtesgadener Land with its Gnotships was annexed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . Scheffau was then listed as a community in the community registers from 1817 . Even before the general regional reform in Bavaria , Marktschellenberg , the former second capital of the Berchtesgadener Land, as well as Landschellenberg and Scheffau were merged to form the new municipality of Marktschellenberg on October 1, 1969 . Since then, Oberstein has been a district or a Gnotschaft of the Marktschellenberg market.
