The Törlkopf is a 1704 m high peak in the southern part of the Lattengebirge . It is located on a mountain ridge running in north-south direction (north to Karkopf and south towards Karspitz ), which forms the border between the communities of Bischofswiesen ( district Bischofswiesener Forst ) in the east and Schneizlreuth (district Forst St. Zeno ) in the west .
The head can be reached via the nearby hiking trail from the Predigtstuhl in the direction of Ramsau and Schneizlreuth . The summit is a popular stopover in summer and is used for ski tours in winter.
Near the summit are a southwest mountain rescue hut and the dilapidated Törlalm, north-northeast at 1293 m height of the mountain lake .
Törlalm
The Törlalm and other alpine pastures in the Lattengebirge were mentioned in archives as early as 1386 and are the oldest in the southeast corner of Bavaria. It was inhabited in the summer months.
The Alm was at an altitude of 1488 m and has since fallen into disrepair.
