The imposing, neo-Gothic mansion dates from 1879. It was partially renovated around 2006, but has been empty and dilapidated since then.
Lexow was first mentioned in a document in 1298, when the Schwerin Bishop Gottfried I von Bülow moved the nunnery of penitents from the new town of Röbel to Alt-Malchow. The estate belonged to the Dobbertin monastery and it was leased as a state domain since 1918 . coat of arms
Blazon : "Argent, a left blue pile yarn, accompanied front of a three-stage red gable front of a house with four pole as arranged black arched windows, in the middle a silver column."
The coat of arms was designed by Lothar Herpich from Neubrandenburg . It was approved on July 10, 1992 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 61 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. |
|
Justification for the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the gable front refers to the manor house (castle) of the von Flotow family. The thread of the stake should symbolize the abundance of water in the area. |
flag
The flag was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on June 27, 1995.
The flag is striped in white, blue and white across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth. The white stripe on the leech takes up three fifths, the blue stripe takes up one sixth and the white stripe on the flight hem takes seven thirtieth of the length of the flag cloth. The middle of the white stripe on the leech is covered with the figure of the municipal coat of arms: with a three-tiered red gable front of a house with four black arched windows arranged in stakes, in the middle a white column. The figure is eight ninths the height of the flagcloth. The length of the flag is related to the height as 5: 3.
