The Fleesensee is a lake in the Mecklenburg Lake District .

location

The body of water has a length of around 4.9 kilometers, a maximum width of around four kilometers and an average depth of 6.1 meters. It lies within a chain of lakes between the Müritz and Plauer See and merges into the Malchower See in the west . To the east there is a connection to the Kölpinsee via the Fleesenkanal . The chain of lakes is traversed by the Elde from east to west and is a part of the federal waterway Müritz-Elde waterway with waterway class I; The Lauenburg Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible . The chain of lakes is heavily frequented by boat and excursion ship traffic as well as water sports.

The municipality of Silz with its districts Heidepark and Nossentin lies on the north-west bank of the Fleesensee, and the district of Untergöhren of the municipality of Göhren-Lebbin on the south bank . The municipalities of Silz, Jabel , Göhren-Lebbin and the city of Malchow have shares in the lake area . The Land Fleesensee holiday and leisure facility is located in Untergöhren , although it is not directly adjacent to the lake.
