Albert Weinberg (born April 9, 1922 in Liège , † September 29, 2011 in Corseaux ) was a Belgian comic artist .

Career

Weinberg, born in 1922 in Liege, studied after high school law while working as an assistant for Victor Hubinon , creator of Franco-Belgian classic Buck Danny . He took over Hubinon's series Joë la Tornade and created two of his own adventure series, Luc Condor and Roc Meteor, with a strong science fiction component. In 1950 he became an employee of Tintin magazine . The first story about his new hero Dan Cooper , a Canadian pilot , appeared here in 1954 . Even after the great success of Dan Cooper, which was published in many European countries, Weinberg worked on new series.

In 1983, Weinberg moved his residence to the municipality of Corseaux on Lake Geneva . For the 75th birthday of the Swiss Air Force , he got an order for a commercial. Further work in this area followed for the Château-d'Oex tourist office and the Swiss Air Rescue . He died in his home at the age of 89.
