Grüssow is a district of the municipality of Fünfseen in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Location and history
Grüssow is divided into Neu-Grüssow and Grüssow. The former Slavic settlement was first mentioned in a document in 1255, the name could be derived from "grusa", ie "pear tree". Similar to Walow , this place was shaped for centuries by the von Flotow family . The former manor house from the first half of the last century now forms the village center and is the venue for cultural events.
The listed Grüssow Church from the 13th century is well worth seeing . The church also has an estate with a rectory that is used for parish events.
On January 1, 2005, the place was incorporated into the new community of Fünfseen .
