Location of Rogeez in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania |
Rogeez is a district of the municipality of Fünfseen in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).
geography
On the west side of the village is the swamp ( Rogeezer Bruch ), which was created by the silting up of a shallow lake. Before the Second World War , the meadows, which at that time were not covered with reeds, were used as pasture, after which this type of cultivation was discontinued and the meadows were reed. In a small part of the area, peat was extracted during the GDR era . Today the flooded mining sites testify to this. In the spring of 1999, rewetting of the area began. For this purpose, the water flow into the Plauer See is controlled. There was a rise in water in the Stuerschen and Rogeezer Flachsee Basin. A hill in the southeast of the village is the highest point in the village at 119 m above sea level . Gravel used to be mined on its south side. In the vernacular of these hills is also called Röbeler mountain called. In the center and along the Satower Weg there is an old chestnut plantation . This planting extended to the Eulenburg until the 1970s .
history
The place Rogeez was first mentioned in documents in 1344. The place name at that time was Rogatze .
Rogeez is a grown village in a row . There are residential buildings along Satower Weg and Parkallee (until 2004: Dorfstrasse). During the GDR era, a block of flats was built in Rosenweg, which was completely renovated in the mid-1990s. The town center is characterized by the historic manor house, which was renovated in 2006 and is now privately owned and inhabited again. Until it was expropriated as part of the land reform , the Rogeez estate was owned by the von Bülow family from Mecklenburg . Next to the manor house, a stable system that is still preserved today is very striking. In the early 1990s, the place was expanded to include a new residential area in the east. 26 single and multi-family houses were built near the cemetery.
Incorporation
On January 1, 2005, Rogeez was incorporated into the new municipality of Fünfseen .
Public facilities
Up until the end of the 1982/83 school year there was a polytechnic high school in the former manor house . At the beginning of the new school year 1983/84 the school location was relocated to Kogel and the building was empty. A daycare center was located behind the manor house until July 31, 2001. The vacant building was demolished as part of the renovation of the manor house.
The communal cemetery , which is located on the south side of the Röbeler Berg facing the town, was founded and laid out after the Second World War on the initiative of some local residents. It was an alternative burial place to the closest cemetery in Satow . There is a celebration hall on top of it. Also worth mentioning is a very massive and old oak tree in the middle of the cemetery.
economy
Until the end of the GDR there was a consumer branch , a post office , a restaurant and a branch of the rural trading cooperative . An old stables made of red brick, dating from the time of the Bülow estate, were demolished in the 1990s after a long period of vacancy and increasing deterioration. It served pig breeding until the end of the GDR. A large garage facility for agricultural machinery from LPG Satow-Kogel was located near this facility. This was demolished in the late 1990s. There are also two large, but no longer actively used stables in the village. They were used for cattle breeding until the end of the 1990s. Since the mid-1990s there has been an independent car workshop in the village. A branch of the Raiffeisenbank is also in town.
societies
In addition to the volunteer fire brigade founded in 1936, which has achieved many successes in competitions, there is the Rogeezer football club SV Rogeez , which was founded in the 1960s and was called BSG Traktor Rogeez until the fall of the century . The folk dance group Fröhlicher Kreis has existed since March 28, 1998 , and the dog sports club was founded in the same year.
