Ritzerow is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located in the Mecklenburg region northwest of Neubrandenburg and belongs to the Stavenhagen office , which has its administrative headquarters in the Reuterstadt Stavenhagen .

Geography and traffic

Ritzerow is located about six kilometers southeast of Stavenhagen and 25 kilometers northwest of Neubrandenburg. The federal highway 104 leads through the community and the federal highway 194 past it to the west. A source stream of the Ostpeene flows through the community .

Galenbeck , Ritzerow and Wackerow are designated as districts .

history

Ritzerow was an old Domanialkirchdorf and in 1276 already had its own parish. In the same year it was established by Duke Wartislaw IV . Pomerania awarded to Ivenack Monastery. Prince Nikolaus v. Werle confirmed belonging to the monastery on January 1, 1300.

With the secularization , Ritzerow fell back to the sovereign administration in the 1650s. The parish later belonged to Stavenhagen as a branch.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Galenbeck was incorporated. Krummsee and Wackerow followed on January 1, 1951.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE RITZEROW • LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE".
