Pragsdorf is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is administered by the Stargarder Land Office based in the town of Burg Stargard .

geography

The municipality of Pragsdorf is about ten kilometers east of Neubrandenburg and ten kilometers north of the official seat of Burg Stargard and is framed by two small lakes.

The Georgendorf district belongs to Pragsdorf .

history

Pragsdorf is mentioned for the first time in 1381 as a fief of the Helpte family . From 1547 to 1918 the estate was owned by the Mecklenburg princes, most recently the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz . The domain tenant house was demolished after 2010.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community Georgendorf was incorporated.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn neck fur and a crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE PRAGSDORF • LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE •".

The federal highway 104 runs through the municipality, which can also be reached from the federal highway 20 via the Neubrandenburg-Ost junction (approx. 10 km away).
