Neuenkirchen is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. The municipality is administered by the Neverin Office, which is based in the municipality of the same name .

geography

The community on the southern slope of the Werder (a ground moraine ) borders on the northeast of the urban area of Neubrandenburg . The Datze river forms the southern border of the Neuenkirchen district .

The districts of Ihlenfeld, Luisenhof and Magdalenenhöh belong to Neuenkirchen.

history

Neuenkirchen was first mentioned in a document in 1360.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Luisenhof was incorporated.

The copper discovery from Neuenkirchen was made here in 1998 as part of the route investigation of the Federal Motorway 20 .

The historic manor house Ihlenfeld, which was rebuilt in 1850 according to a design by court architect Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel, was last owned by the Berlin Redaco GmbH, it fell into disrepair and was finally demolished in 2002.

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn neck fur and a crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE NEUENKIRCHEN * LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE".

Attractions

  • The village church is a field stone building from the 13th century, the west tower, which was probably never completed, is as wide as a ship and ends under the church roof. The interior of the pulpit altar dates from the 17th century.
  • The old manor house Neuenkirchen from 1646 was demolished after 1962; The new manor house, which was built in 1907/08 according to plans by the Rostock architect Alfred Krause, is preserved.
  • The mansion Ihlenfeld 19th century was a 11-axle, two-storey stone building with a central buttress , which according to plans by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel in the style of the English Tudor Gothic emerged as remodeling. Neuenkirchen is connected to the nearby cities of Neubrandenburg and Altentreptow by country roads . The A 20 runs through the municipality (connection Neubrandenburg-Ost five and a half kilometers away). On January 14, 1994 , the local rail transport was discontinued on the Neubrandenburg – Friedland railway line , where the Neuenkirchen (Meckl) station was located . The nearest train station is in Sponholz -Warlin on the Neubrandenburg-Pasewalk railway line .
