history
History of the enclave
The Säben Dkörper, which also includes Zettemin with Peenwerder, Carlsruhe and Rützenfelde, were an enclave ten kilometers long and up to five kilometers wide on the Ostpeene, which belonged to the Demmin district and thus to the Prussian province of Pomerania . They were completely enclosed by the Mecklenburg area.
On April 1, 1937, the enclave was incorporated into the Malchin ( Mecklenburg ) district by the Greater Hamburg Act of January 26, 1937 .
Zettemin
Zettemin was first mentioned in 1261 as a village belonging to Dargun monastery . The village church also dates from this time. A watermill was a little away from the village on the Peene , this was also called the New Mill in old maps . Zettemin is an elongated street green village . In 1850 the place had 310 inhabitants.
The manor house in Zettemin was built from brick by Axel Albrecht von Maltzahn around 1750 and forms a semicircular complex with the attached side wings. It is baroque in style, the main building "Corps de logis" is two-story and has seven axes, the side wings were originally one-story, but the one on the left was later changed. The central projection of the plastered building is roofed over with a triangle.
From 1852 the estate belonged to the von Heyden family and from the beginning of the 20th century until 1945 it belonged to the Count von Schwerin , who had married one von Heyden.
The village church in Zettemin is a stone church from the 13th century, which was extended in the late Gothic period to include the west tower and the northern crypt annex. The furnishings are mainly from the mid-19th century, the restored baroque organ from 1779 contains an organ from the workshop of Matthias Friese .
On January 1, 1951, Rottmannshagen was incorporated. In 1972, however, the place was again outsourced and reclassified to Stavenhagen .
Rützenfelde
Rützenfelde was first mentioned in a document in 1269 and originally belonged to the Zettemin estate. On January 1, 1951, Rützenfelde moved as a district from Rottmannshagen to Zettemin. The place remained there in 1972 when Rottmannshagen was reclassified again. Today Rützenfelde is just a local recreation area with a cottage settlement.
Carlsruhe
Carlsruhe was founded in 1799 by long-term lease .
