Gülzow is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District . The community is located northwest of Neubrandenburg . It belonged to the Stavenhagen-Land Office until January 31, 2004 and since the merger with the city of Stavenhagen to the Stavenhagen Office , which has its administrative headquarters in the Reuterstadt Stavenhagen .

Geography and traffic

Gülzow is about four kilometers west of Stavenhagen and about six kilometers east of Malchin , south of the Kummerower See . The B 194 runs east, the B 104 north of the municipality. The nearest train station is Reuterstadt Stavenhagen on the Bützow – Szczecin railway , about five kilometers east of Gülzow. Bus line 426 of the Demminer Verkehrsgesellschaft runs to Stavenhagen on weekdays .

history

Gülzow was first mentioned in a document in 1226. The village and church were destroyed in the Thirty Years War . The former Hufendorf developed in the 18th and 19th centuries into a rural village with farms, former dealerships and cottages .

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription “GEMEINDE GÜLZOW • LANDKREIS MECKLENBURGISCHE SEENPLATTE”.
