history

Jürgenstorf was probably founded as part of the German colonization in the east and named after a locator Jürgen. In the Thirty Years War the place was almost completely destroyed. Only four people survived from the nine farmers and seven farms that were located there. The destroyed church was rebuilt in 1700.

The baroque manor house Jürgenstorf was built in the 18th century. When the building was rebuilt in 1910, the facility was changed significantly. Two gatehouses from the 18th century have been preserved in their original state.

Landowners were u. a. 1792 August Friedrich von Lowtzow , the Prussian cavalry captain and cloister captain of Dobbertin monastery , who also owned the Rensow and Klaber estates. He was married to Melusine, b. from Levitzow . In 1798 the district administrator Gustav Dietrich von Oertzen bought the estate. His son (Georg) Ludwig von Oertzen (1801–1878) inherited it after 1839, who with Helene, née. von Boddien (1812–1863), was married. In 1869, Friedrich (Helmuth Anton) von Blücher (1843–1917), married to Auguste, b. von Levetzow (1855-1927). This was followed by their son Friedrich Jobst Alexander August von Blücher (1878–1933), married to Henriette, born as the owner. von Hertzberg (* 1883). The manor remained in the Blücherschem family until 1945. The manor house has been used as a residential building since 1945. An equipment and stable building from 1892 was converted into a residential building after 1990.

Krummsee and Vosshagen are both former small manor villages. In Krummsee settlement farms determine the village image. Gut Vosshagen had been owned by the von Blücher family since 1869 ; the small manor house in the style of a tenant house stands empty and threatens to decay. Recommended for an emergency backup program.

Rottmannshagen was mentioned in a document as Rathenow . Today's name extension hagen came around 1400. Landowners were u. a. the von Maltzahn family (1482–1875) and Wahnschaffe (until 1945). The baroque mansion from 1732 burned down in 1945. A smaller new building was built here.

Attractions

Jürgenstorf village church
  • Dorfkirche Jürgenstorf , a half-timbered church from 1700: Parts of the church, in particular the substructure of the rectangular west tower, come from a previous building from around 1400. The historical furnishings of the church include a carved altar from the late 15th century with a multi-figure crucifixion group and figures of all twelve apostles, also another old carved crucifixion group as well as pulpit and patronage box from the 18th century.
In the surrounding Jürgenstorf cemetery is the grave of the estate inspector Johann Friedrich Schecker (1775–1848), who is generally believed to be the model of Fritz Reuter's literary figure Unkel Bräsig . However, this identification of Bräsig was contradicted by a son of Schecker who, as a model for the literary figure, brought up an inspector Wiese, who was active in the region in Reuters times. A sculpture by the sculptor
Günter Kaden on Entspektor-Bräsig-Platz also commemorates the estate inspector Bräsig .
  • Jürgenstorf manor from 1910, later converted into a residential building; preserved baroque gatehouses of the earlier complex
  • Technikmuseum Jürgenstorf , seat of the local classic car club
  • Gutsanlage Rottmannshagen with the renovated, two-storey cavalier houses made of brick with mansard roofs and some farm buildings. The baroque mansion from 1732 burned down in 1945. It was owned by the von Maltzahn family and in 1875 went to the Wahnschaffe family , who managed the estate until 1945.

In no way was his father a role model for Unkel Bräsig , it says. Rather, Bräsig's personality, appearance and manner of speaking would remind you of an Inspector Wiese who was known to his father, who was an economist on the Basedower appraisal in Reuter's time and who was later an estate inspector somewhere between Klink and Blücher.
