history

Trollenhagen is first mentioned in 1308 as Hogenhaven . The name is likely to come from Middle Low German and means something like hoge (height) and haven Hof, possession . Podewall was part of the Himmelpfort monastery since 1358 . From 1496 the place was called Trullenhagen , later Trollenhagen .

There has been a manor in the village since early modern times, but there were also farms until the second half of the 18th century, the last of which was withdrawn in 1760. Landowners were u. a. the families Friedrich Gottlieb Cossebade (until 1702), von Jasmund (until 1732), von Voß (until 1760), Röpert (until 1806), Carl Jacob Frodien (until 1834), Koch (until 1848), Siemerling and Grisebach (until 1945 ). The property was then expropriated. The mansion from after 1702 with older parts from 1578 and 1662 was used after 1945 as refugee accommodation as well as a restaurant and residential building. Around 1961 the roof structure of the main house collapsed and was poorly repaired.

The writer Caroline Rudolphi worked here as an educator from 1778 to 1783.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipalities Buchhof and Podewall were incorporated.

Airfield / air base

There has been an airfield since 1933, which was only used for military purposes until 1993. Since 1993, he is from the Air Force of the Armed Forces as a military airfield operated and from the airport Neubrandenburg shared -Trollenhagen GmbH as a civilian regional airport. The civil handling terminal was inaugurated in 1995.

coat of arms

Trollenhagen coat of arms
Blazon : “In green, a silver Milan on a sub-halved, four-spoke golden gear with sixteen teeth; the middle spoke covered with a green acorn; between the spokes a golden acorn. "

The coat of arms and the flag were designed by Michael Zapfe from Weimar . It was approved together with the flag on September 5, 2003 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the no. 286 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Explanation of the coat of arms: In the coat of arms the Milan stands primarily as a symbol for the air traffic, in the second place this coat of arms characterizes the birds of prey in the community corridor. The industrial settlements in Trollenhagen are to be symbolized with the cogwheel. The three acorns refer to the dominant tree species in the district and the number of the three districts.

flag

The flag is striped in green, white and green across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth. The green stripes each take up three tenths, the white stripe two fifths the length of the flag cloth. In the middle of the white stripe is the municipal coat of arms, which takes up three fifths of the height of the flag. The length of the flag is related to the height as 5: 3.
