The family of the Knights of Havelberg probably comes from the city of the same name . In the 13th century they were known as feudal people and entourage of the Lords of Werle . The sex itself is older.

history

The knight Johann von Havelberg was mentioned in 1256 as the owner of an estate on the borders of Zechlin . He also owned the large Boek estate (district of Rechlin ) on the northwestern border of the country Turne or the Mirow commandery . He is considered the progenitor of the family in Mecklenburg . The last named representative was Heinrich von Havelberg. The same was named as the owner of the Striggow estate in 1431.

The shield shows two wings placed side by side with drooping feathers, which later became an eagle. Coats of arms related to those of Loziz (Loitz), Eckernförde, Trechow, Zernin and Barnekow. A possible tribal relationship has yet to be researched.
