history
The history of Lexow coincides with that of the Malchow and Dobbertin monasteries , with which it has been closely connected from the earliest times.
Lexow was first mentioned in a document on May 29, 1298.
At that time a nunnery was moved from Röbel / Müritz to Alt-Malchow. Prince Nikolaus von Werle , who ruled in this area, gave the monastery patronage over the churches of Alt-Malchow, Neu-Malchow and Lexow. The Malchow Monastery gave the property associated with the Lexow Church (at the latest) in 1345 to the Dobbertin Monastery , which had it administered for centuries with its sand priest .
