Lansen is a village in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany), which belongs to the municipality of Peenehagen .

geography

Lansen is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District , about 10 km from Waren (Müritz) . The wooded, hilly area around the place is north of the Müritz and northwest of the Torgelower See . The nature park Mecklenburgische Schweiz and Kummerower See adjoin the west of the Lansen-Schönau district . In the north, the place has a share of the Rittermannshagener See .

history

Lansen was mentioned in 1481 as a manor of the Babbezin family. After the Babbezin died out in 1700, Lansen became the property of Andreas von Pritzbuer , after which it changed hands several times - among others, it was owned by Peter Ernst von Meyenn and his son-in-law Christian Ernst von Randow . Then in 1797 it finally came to the Counts Hahn , who owned the estate until 1932. From 1933 Lansen was settled with 35 independent farms, which to this day determine the typical Mecklenburg village image, which is characterized by agriculture. After 1945, an extensive LPG complex was built in the southeast of Lansen.

On January 1, 2005, the municipality merged with the neighboring municipality of Alt Schönau to the south to form Lansen-Schönau . It went up on January 1, 2012 in the municipality of Peenehagen.
