Oshivelo is a settlement at about 1092 m in the constituency of Guinas in the Oshikoto region in northern Namibia . The settlement is mainly inhabited by the Haiǁom . They are said to have already made up 2700 inhabitants in 2001.
Infrastructure
The place is on the B1 national road and has had a train station on the Tsumeb – Oshikango railway since 2004 . This was inaugurated by the former President of Namibia Sam Nujoma and bears his name.
The main residential area Cemetery location ( German cemetery area ), also known as Donkerhoek ( dark corner ), is located to the south of the village. It has three drinking water stations that can be used by the local residents free of charge. There is no electricity.
Oshivelo has a clinic and combined elementary and secondary school. There are at least four active churches and 50 shebeens as well as a gas station, police station and a branch of the agricultural utility Agra .
