Regions of Namibia

Namibia since August 8, 2013 in 14 administrative (previously 13) Regions ( English Regions ) divided. The regions have their own regional administrations that are only able to act to a limited extent . For the first time, the regions of Namibia were determined by proclamation on March 3, 1992 and confirmed in August 1992 by the Regional Councils Act, 1992 .

During the transition period from 1990 to 1992, Regional Commissioners (English Regional Commissioner ) by the President to guide the management of the old regions (including Central , Western , Northwest appointed).

Changes to the number, size and division of the regions can be made on the basis of Article 103 of the Constitution of Namibia on the basis of recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of Namibia .

The capital of Namibia is Windhoek .
