The Iranian women's national soccer team represents Iran in international women's soccer . The national team reports to the Iranian Football Association (IRIFF) and is coached by Shahrzad Mozafar. The team has so far never been able to take part in the Asian Cup due to a lack of qualifications and therefore not qualify for the World Championships and Olympic Games. In keeping with the nickname of the Iranian men's national soccer team , Team Melli , the women's team is called Team Melli Zanan .

In Iran, women are only allowed to play football by law if they are wearing a headscarf. In addition, women's football in Iran mostly takes place in halls. In 2006, the first football match of the Iranian women's national football team took place in a stadium in Tehran since the 1979 revolution. The opponent was the women's team of the Berlin club BSV Al-Dersimspor. The result of the game was 2-2. The documentary Football Under Cover was made about the encounter . A return match was planned for 2007 in Berlin, but the Iranian team canceled.
