The Indian national soccer team represents India in international women's soccer . The national team is subordinate to the Indian Football Federation ( All India Football Federation ) and is coached by Harjinder Singh . It has existed since 1975 and was organized by the Women's Football Federation of India until 1991. The matches before 1991 are therefore not included in the FIFA statistics. India took part in seven of the previous Asian championships , but only made it past the preliminary round twice. Third place was achieved in 1981 and second place in 1983 . However, only Thailand, India, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong participated in 1983. India's selection has never taken part in a World Cup or the Olympic Games.
