The 9th Asian women's soccer championship was held in Malaysia from December 3 to 12, 1993 . The game was played in Kuching , Sarawak . China won for the fourth time in a row after beating North Korea 3-0 .

There were no qualifiers. All eight registered teams took part directly in the tournament and were divided into two groups of four. Within the preliminary round groups, each team played once against each other. The group winners and the group runner-up with the best points reached the semi-finals. The semi-final winners reached the final, the semi-final losers played for third place.
