Women's Asian Football Championship 2008 / Qualification

The qualification for the Asian Women's Football Championship 2008 was played in the period from October 20, 2007 to March 28, 2008. Twelve national teams played for four places for the finals in Vietnam .

The qualification for the tournament was carried out in two phases. Due to the placements at the 2006 Asian Cup , Australia , China , Japan and North Korea were set for the finals and therefore did not have to qualify.

The eight weakest national teams were divided into four games by lot and determined the participants in the second qualifying round in two legs. The game was played from October 20th to 27th, 2007.

The winners of the first round and four other teams were randomly divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team played each other once. The group winners and runners-up qualified for the final round. The game was played from March 24th to 28th, 2008.

By resigning Guam, Chinese Teipei reached the second round without a fight.
