The first women's soccer Asian Cup was held in Hong Kong from August 25 to September 3, 1975 . It was the first continental championship in women's football . With Australia and New Zealand also participated two teams that were not members of the AFC at the time . The winner was New Zealand by a 3: 1 victory over Thailand .
