The Qatari national football team represents Qatar in international women's football, the department has existed since 2009.

history

So far, the Qatari women's selection has only played friendly matches , the team has not yet participated in qualifications for the World Cup or qualifications for the Asian Cup. At the end of August 2013, the team traveled to Germany with their then coach Monika Staab , where they played several test matches against the second team from FFC Wacker Munich , VfB Straubing II and a youth team from TSG Hoffenheim .

situation

The Qatari Football Association has made several efforts since 2009 to promote women's football in Qatar. A U-14 and a U-16 were founded under Monika Staab's supervision, and there is now a league (men are not allowed to watch).

As Sharia applies in Qatar , national players are only allowed to play in the hijab . Conservative parents often have problems even allowing their daughters to play football. For example, four players were not allowed to take part in the Germany tour.
