The East Timorese national football team is a national team of the Federação Futebol Timor-Leste (FFTL), which represents the Southeast Asian island state of East Timor at international matches against teams from other national associations. Since their first international match in July 2016, the national team has participated in three Southeast Asian championships .

history

On July 27, 2016 - more than ten years after the Federação Futebol Timor-Leste was admitted to the world football association FIFA - the national team made its debut at the Southeast Asian Cup and was defeated in their premiere game by the hosts from Myanmar in front of around 10,000 spectators with 0:17 (0: 11). After further defeats against Australia U-20s (0:20) and Malaysia (0:13), the East Timorese left the tournament without scoring their own. The national team also failed to score in their four games against Cambodia (0:12), Thailand (0: 8), Australia U-20 (0: 9) and Malaysia (0: 4) at the 2018 Southeast Asian Cup and then lost again the group stage. On August 15, 2019, the Osttimoresinnen could in Southeast Asia Cup by 2: 1 over Singapore celebrate their first victory, the first goal in the international game history scored Luselia Fernandes by a directly transformed corner kick in the 59th minute. This was followed by defeats against the Philippines (0: 7), Thailand (0: 9) and Malaysia (0: 5), so that they finished seventh among nine participating nations.
