The Pripsleben Church is a church building in Pripsleben in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It belongs to the parish Altenhagen in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District .

History and architecture

The oldest mention of a church in Pripsleben is from 1245. Today's church is a late medieval stone building from the 15th century. The choir is closed on three sides and reinforced at the corners by buttresses . On the west gable is a square lattice tower with a tent roof , which was built in 1907.

The Pripsleben church was initially an independent parish church . At times it belonged to the Treptow Church before it finally became a daughter church of Altenhagen in the 18th century.

In 1969 a winter church was set up under the gallery . The interior was renovated in 1999.

Interior

The inside of the church has a flat wooden ceiling. In the second half of the 18th century the pulpit altar was made with barriers. The organ was built in 1908 by Felix Grüneberg as Opus 569, the prospectus is possibly from around 1850.

The bell probably dates from the 15th century, as can be deduced from its master's mark, which was also found on bells in the church in Krien and dated 1489 in Werder (near Altentreptow) .
